the cabin game Updates Hub
Patches, Early Access timing, and the public roadmap from Twisted Corridor.
the cabin game entered Early Access on 27 August 2026 on Steam (app 4406280). Twisted Corridor is iterating in public: cards, monsters, and the loop itself can still change from playtests and player reports. This hub is the map for that window. It does not replace a beginner walkthrough or the control layout. It tells you what already changed in a build, what the studio still calls a goal, and which pain points a settings tweak cannot fix.
Read patches before you blame muscle memory. A chase that felt unfair last night may be slower today. A clock that drowned the mix may now have its own slider. An attic stalker that punished a sprint may have been eased. If your group only plays on weekends, skim this hub at the start of the session so you are not arguing over a rule the build no longer uses.
Pages in this hub
- First Round Patch notes — the first public hotfix pass: clock audio, FPS cap, sitting camera, monster pathing, musical rooms, and the forest teleport that is only maybe-fixed.
- Early Access FAQ — why the game is in Early Access, the 6–8 month target, price after 1.0, what 30+ cards and 12 monsters actually cover, and how feedback is supposed to land.
- Early Access roadmap — extra Event Cards, unique progress cards, yearly Halloween and Christmas events, a larger Boo Factory, achievements, player backgrounds, localization, and quality-of-life work.
Use the three pages together. The patch page is what shipped. The FAQ is the contract Twisted Corridor posted on Steam. The roadmap is the direction of travel, not a dated calendar.
What Early Access currently contains
The Steam Early Access build is already a full loop, not a slice of a menu. You play solo or in 1–4 player online co-op. English interface and full audio ship now; other languages are planned rather than present. A session deals from a pool of 30+ cards, each with its own function, and twelve monsters can enter the cabin. Candy feeds the Boo Factory, where you spend on cosmetics, lobby pets, and tricks ‘n treats that mess with friends. Rooms are not a single fixed map: players place cabin spaces as the game progresses, so an early layout choice can punish a late event.
That is why patches matter more here than in a finished campaign. A collision tweak on the monkey, a droppable totem, or a slower chase changes how you furnish a hallway. Keep the card rankings and player roles in the same browser as this hub so a new Event Card type on the roadmap has somewhere to land when it arrives.
Pain the studio is already chasing
Players have been loud about a few issues that sit next to the official notes:
- Clock volume used to fight the rest of the mix. The First Round Patch adds a separate slider for the ticking clock. Confirm it in settings and performance before you turn the whole game down.
- Neighbour-related crashes are a community report, not a claimed First Round fix. If a neighbour event still dumps the session, say so in-game or on the official Discord, and keep a note on the Links Hub.
- The in-game clue tutorial is thin. Pair the extra gameplay tips from the patch with the clue notebook and the clue hunting guide.
- Solo players burn time-skips when a puzzle stalls. That is a habit, not a feature request the patch list answers. Slow down, log the object in front of you, then skip.
- Performance on mid-range PCs is uneven. Start from system requirements, then try Low graphics with VSync off.
How to use this hub in a real session
Before you host, check three things: you are on the latest Steam build, the clock slider exists in audio, and the max FPS value actually sticks. Those three checks catch the First Round Patch. Then decide whether tonight is a teaching run or a try-hard escape. Teaching runs want tips on, Low graphics for readability, and a shared notebook. Try-hard runs still want the clock under control so audio tells survive the table chatter.
After a wipe, write the patch name next to the death, not just the monster. “Attic stalker, pre-forgiveness sprint” is a different lesson from “attic stalker after First Round.” The Tools Hub exists so those notes stay practical. The Guides Hub exists so the next attempt has a plan.
Twisted Corridor has said core mechanics and the loop may change from feedback. Treat every ranking on this wiki as dated to the current Early Access pass, not to a locked 1.0. When a new Event Card type or a holiday event lands, this hub should be the first page you refresh, then the patch page, then the roadmap so you can see whether the new toy was promised or a surprise.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers about cards, clues, monsters, and escaping the cabin.
Is the cabin game in Early Access or a finished 1.0?
It is in Early Access. It entered Early Access on 27 August 2026. Twisted Corridor's public goal is to leave Early Access about 6–8 months after that date.
Where should I start if I only care about what changed this week?
Open the First Round Patch notes, then confirm the clock slider and FPS cap on settings and performance.
Does a patch change card rankings?
It can. Chase speed, monster collision, and new Event Card types all move the card rankings. Re-read that page after any notes that mention AI or events.
Where do I send a bug that is not in these notes?
Use the in-game reporter or the official Discord. Store, news, discussions, and email are listed on the Links Hub.
