September 20, 2026 Update

Twisted Corridor posted a new update on September 20, 2026, following the September patches earlier in the month. The studio apologized for the gap, noting there were a couple of setbacks, but the update delivers new content alongside bug fixes.

The headline additions are The Lightbulb Lady — a new mid-game event that the studio says should compete with Red Balloons for attention — and the Shuffle Card, a progress card that swaps your entire hand for fresh draws. The rest of the patch addresses bugs reported since launch week.

The Lightbulb Lady event

A new mid-game Event Card that operates in low-light or darkness, similar in tone to Red Balloons. The objective involves finding a lightbulb and using it correctly within the event context.

Twisted Corridor described it as an event that rewards patience and map awareness over sprinting. Groups who read the card, assess the cabin layout, and move deliberately tend to resolve it cleaner.

For full survival steps, see The Lightbulb Lady.

Shuffle Card

A new progress card (30 minutes) that swaps all the current cards the player is holding with new, random ones from the deck. This only applies to the person that plays the card — other players keep their hands.

The Shuffle Card is a 30-minute monster pawn push plus a hand disruption. Playing it replaces your entire hand with fresh draws. If your hand is already useless, it converts dead weight into a fresh draw. If your hand has value, the Shuffle Card burns it.

For more on when to play it, see Progress Cards.

Bug fixes

Text chat cursor bug fixed. The bug where the player’s cursor was hidden on their turn in text chat is now resolved.

Thief card bug fixed. If played near the end of the game, the Thief card would sometimes prevent new cards from spawning. This is now fixed.

Basement event Sparky fix. The Basement event will no longer happen if there are no available spawns for Sparky. This prevents a soft-lock where the event triggered without a valid enemy position.

Feeling Small fixes. Several issues with the Feeling Small event were addressed. Note: the train getting stuck when dropped from the ceiling is still under investigation.

SFX volume fixes. A number of sound effects were not being applied with the appropriate volume settings. This has been corrected.

Candy compensation gift in the lobby

The update also introduced candy compensation as a gift in the lobby — likely addressing the studio’s earlier note about compensating candy for mid-game disconnects.
